David Hogg is a Target of Centrist Dems?
Centrist Dems, given where the GOP is now, should not exist
Beware the right wing propaganda. David Hogg is all good, smart as a whip, wise beyond his young years, and incredibly well-read.
I write right-wing, because this is what the mainstream media has become.
Take this paragraph, for example:
“Inside the Democratic Party, Hogg’s election — and the resulting coverage — has been accompanied by frustration among centrists that a 24-year-old March for our Lives co-founder with a million followers could hurt the party’s brand, especially in swing districts.”
Mainstream Democrats, intent on winning last cycle, were content to continue using the same self-destructive tactics when running their campaigns, reinforcing negative messaging about Democrats other than themselves, making empty promises to placate voters and, never once, doing any kind of voter outreach and teach-ins to “inform” voters and discourage them from misinterpreting the very slanted messaging they were getting from mainstream media outlets all throughout the 2024 election cycle.
The answer to the undoing of everything we have as one nation isn’t to grow closer to those who are destroying it. But that is the message that “centrists” continue to believe will keep them in office, no matter how horrific the actions of those they seek to be closer to.
Remember, the center point on any line is the middle point. When that entire line has been yanked rightward, completely off the chart, where that middle ends up is at the former right-most point. The left hasn’t changed. The right of the Democratic party is moving right along with Trump. Some of those right-wing Democrats are from states in which they never had a chance to win an election as Republicans. They need to be primaried out of the Democratic party as the party finds its footing and a unified voice.
“I found him to be focused and pragmatic because he understands that’s the best pathway for success,” said John Della Volpe, director of Harvard University’s youth poll, who has worked with Hogg. “Over the time I’ve known him, he’s grown into a leader who understands that the goal is to win.”
That is also how I’ve perceived Hogg to be ever since he entered the political arena. Winning means understanding what is wrong and going about changing in ways that ensure that correction is done the right way.
“Pumped for David, who is IN THE ARENA and helping DEMS BE COOL AGAIN,” Jack Schlossberg, a Democratic influencer and the grandson of President John F. Kennedy, wrote on X.
Jack Schlossberg is another great young Democrat and a wonderful counter to his soon to be to his HHS Secretary cousin.
In his statement to POLITICO, Hogg said of his reception from conservative media, in part, “I’m used to it, but I’ve never let that right-wing propaganda stop me from showing up, uplifting young voices, and working to unify all corners of our party.”
That is the attitude to have going into this struggle for the soul of the Democratic Party.
Following the election, Liam Kerr, co-founder of a PAC supporting centrist Democrats, wrote on X that Hogg was a “symptom” of many Democratic problems, including being a “white guy who panders” and a Democrat who “shits on moderates who won.”
If after the 2024 election, this is what centrists still hold dear, then the Josh Gottheimers, Michael Bennetts and other malcontent centrist Democrats of the world need to find their place in the other party where they’ve always belonged.
At this point, excommunication should befall any Democrat who cooperates with Boer descendant Elon Musk and openly racist Donald Trump and their minions.
Since 2016, centrists have worked against the party, using catch-phrases like “purity” to influence Democratic voters’ antipathy towards the “extreme left”. The big secret had been that socialism is bad. Well, these last years since Bernie Sanders’ two runs for office and especially all throughout Joe Biden’s presidency, voters have learned that compassionate and equitable governance is a good thing.
In the face of Trumpian and Muskian cruelty, it’s high time centrists found their center again, lest they risk being voted into oblivion. Enough is enough.

Why some centrist Dems fear David Hogg could ‘do more harm than good.’
The activist’s election as vice chair of the Democratic National Committee was pilloried in conservative media.
Inside the Democratic Party, Hogg’s election — and the resulting coverage — has been accompanied by frustration among centrists that a 24-year-old March for our Lives co-founder with a million followers could hurt the party’s brand, especially in swing districts. They vented that his ascension is representative of Democrats’ failure to grapple with some voters’ frustration that the party is overly concerned with diversity and appeals to the far left.
“The most worrying thing is if he carries into this new job a belief that saying what he was saying, but louder, is the way to prevail in red states,” said Matt Bennett, co-founder of the center-left group Third Way. “Because it isn’t … If he believes that it is, that’s going to be a real problem for our candidates in those places.”
