My newsday begins between three and four in the morning when I put together the initial news post and it goes on all day, minute by minute, until new news stop coming in. Most often it’s close to midnight when it all stops.
How to use my newsletter without obsessing…
Obsessing is my job.
I expect most readers to scan the headlines and blurbs I post and only occasionally click through to read entire articles.
There are times, with certain daily newsletters, when I might recommend clicking through because there is so much that affects us all that it is a necessity for everyone to know.
I do my best to include a lot of video material, knowing that a lot of people prefer the format.
The news sources I use are all free. I try to vary the sources to give readers as wide a snapshot of what is going on, from as wide a viewpoint as possible. The sources I use are both national, international, and US-based with a heavy presence in Europe.
I only send out one email, at about 04:00 am PST. After that, I send out posts on Bluesky and Substack, so it is important that you follow me at least on one of the two platforms.
I try to break the monotony and depressive nature of the news with some music and, on Saturdays, a short Big Cat video. Today, for example, I included a trailer for Kevin Bacon’s new mini-series.
Is there anything you wished I’d cover? Please let me know in the comments.
Thanks for reading me!

Your financial support is what will keep me going…
I publish my daily news post free to all because it is more important to me to keep us all informed, but it does take me from 04:00 through the evening to curate the news. I also publish at least 2 opinion pieces per week, also free.
I am committed to doing this work for the duration of this administration.
Please support me and subscribe for $5 a month.
Thank you.
Stay with it Rima. Every effort is good for all of us.
Your work is remarkable.
